PRIX VISIONICA - Categories and Prizes

A Pre-Selection Committee will select the works to be presented to the Competition Jury that will assess the works and award the PRIX VISIONICA Grand Prize and Main Prizes in all the competition categories:

The PRIX VISIONICA Grand Prize

The PRIX VISIONICA Grand Prize amounts to 25 000 Euro and will be awarded to the best work combining contemporary cultural issues with creativity and innovation in television and / or multiplatform broadcast modes, making and outstanding contribution to both the content of contemporary culture and the development of the language of television.

Main Prizes

Feature Television Film

An award of 5000 euro will be granted to the best originally-produced television film, short story, pilot or first episode of a series, made for television or multi-platform broadcast (26 to 90 minutes in length);

Documentary

An award of 5000 euro will be granted to the best documentary or reenactment, either free-standing or part of a serial or series, that presents,reveals or analyzes phenomena, trends and topics that shape contemporary culture (26 to 90 minutes in length);

Television Theatre

An award of 5000 euro will be granted to the best made-for-broadcast play or adaptation of a play, or a broadcast performance of a play, in which the language of the contemporary theatre meets the language of the audiovisual broadcast medium (no length requirements);

Music and Dance

An award of 5000 euro will be granted to the best program presenting any form of music as an integral part of an audiovisual production,including dance or ballet, and in which the nature of the broadcast medium co-creates the form of the work (no length requirements);

Intermezzo

An award of 2500 euro will be granted to the best short experimental audiovisual form (up to 12 to 12 minutes in length). Works assessed in this category may extend the screen presentation with elements of other forms of communication; may have the function of interstitial content; may serve to identify the channel, program or broadcaster; and may be intended for broadcast via the Internet or mobile devices.

Special awards

ARTE G.E.I.E., Telekanal Kultura and Polish Film Institute, an official partners of the Festival, founded a special, non-statutory award amounting to 5000 Euro.

Thanks to this contribution the overall pool of prizes in the competition amounts to 62 200 Euro
